safeguarding EC Maritime business

About us

Eastern Cape Maritime Business Chamber (ECMBC) is a registered Non-Profit Company under Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) Companies Act, 2008 (2016 / 276565 / 08) with the aim to address the imbalances and opportunities in the South African Marine Industry representing the interests of all local businesses currently and wishing to participate in the sector.

The Eastern Cape Maritime Business Chamber was initially formed in year 2016 in alignment with the NDP objectives and was later restructured in early 2019.

The chamber has positioned itself to the country’s strategic programmes such as NDP, Operation Phakisa and Comprehensive Maritime Transport Policy and it plans to close the gaps and populate opportunities that need to be created for SMME’s in the maritime industry.

To be a developing, inclusive, progressive and transformative chamber for maritime enterprises with a focus on competent emerging businesses.

To be a leading partner of choice in offering a plethora of maritime services that promote job creation, skills development and other maritime business operations. To provide leadership in linking businesses (domestic & international) for a seamless access to commercial maritime ventures for the growth of the Eastern Cape economy.
